Welcome to the Czech chapter of the Stolpersteine project website.
The Stolpersteine are memorial stones, commemorating the holocaust victims, that are being laid in front of the house from which a particular person was deported to the Nazi concentration camp and murdered. You can learn more on this Europe-wide project here.
This website is devoted to the Stolpersteine which were laid to commemorate the Czech victims of the holocaust. You will find here an overview of the Stones, with the information on the fate of people inscribed on them. Most Czech Stolpersteine have so far been placed in Prague (where they are also called the Stones of the Vanished), but gradually the Stones are spreading to other locations throughout the Czech Republic.
Through this website, you can contact any of the Czech Stolpersteine executive teams in order to get more information about the project, and to request a Stolperstein for your kin in your region.
We believe that this web, as well as our way of commemorating the victims of one of the most horrid periods of Czech history, will captivate you.
